PRO EXO Professional Series
Post Hair Transplant Exosome Recovery Protocol
A modular, phase-based exosome protocol for hair transplant surgeons, dermatologists and aesthetic clinics — matching the exosome to the biology dominant at each stage of recovery.
The 72 hours following a hair transplant are one of the most consequential windows in the entire patient journey. Graft survival, healing velocity and long-term density outcomes are shaped in large part by what happens to the scalp microenvironment in the days and weeks after surgery.
Yet most post-transplant care protocols remain reactive — managing infection risk and patient expectations, rather than actively supporting the biological conditions grafts need to take and thrive.
The Ossome PRO EXO Series offers a different approach: a modular set of clinic-exclusive exosome vials, each built on a different plant-derived exosome, designed to work with the scalp's own regenerative biology across each stage of the recovery window.
Why the post-transplant window is underserved
Hair transplant outcomes are measured months later — but they are largely determined in the first few weeks. The challenges clinics commonly face during this window include:
Inflammatory response
Surgical trauma triggers inflammation that can compromise graft take if not actively modulated.
Scalp barrier disruption
Incision sites leave the scalp vulnerable to transepidermal water loss and microbial challenge.
Shock loss in native follicles
Telogen effluvium affecting surrounding hair can erode patient confidence before results appear.
Microbial imbalance
Disrupted scalp flora post-procedure creates conditions for opportunistic colonisation and irritation.
What exosomes address in the recovery window
Exosomes are extracellular vesicles that carry proteins, signalling molecules and microRNA between cells. Applied to post-surgical scalp tissue, they act as biological messengers — not introducing foreign material, but engaging the scalp's own repair processes.
- Modulation of the inflammatory cascade without suppressing the healing response
- Support for epithelial barrier repair at graft sites
- Promotion of angiogenesis to help restore blood supply to transplanted follicles
- Support for hair cycle re-entry in shocked surrounding native follicles
- Scalp microbiome stabilisation
The PRO EXO modular recovery protocol
Rather than a single fixed product, the PRO EXO Series is applied in phases — each led by the exosome best matched to the dominant biological challenge at that stage. Clinicians adapt the combination to each patient's presentation and response.
Inflammation control and barrier repair — KERAPAIR
Rose stem cell exosomes are associated with fibroblast activity, collagen and elastin production, and modulation of inflammatory signalling — the biology that matters most in the acute window. The focus is calming the inflammatory response, supporting closure at graft channels, and limiting transepidermal water loss from disrupted tissue.
Microbiome stabilisation — AZOLEI
As surface healing progresses, microbial balance becomes the dominant challenge. AZOLEI addresses opportunistic colonisation, helps regulate sebum, and reduces irritation — creating a stable microenvironment for grafts to consolidate.
Cycle activation and density support — MINOX
With the surgical site stabilised, focus shifts to supporting anagen re-entry in grafted and surrounding follicles. MINOX is the growth-pathway line, formulated with Amirecxil™, and is selected by patient sex and required strength.
Vial selection by phase
| Phase | Exosome | Vial options |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 — Days 0–7 | Rose stem cell | KERAPAIR Super Recovery, Collagen Shield |
| Phase 2 — Weeks 2–4 | Onion bulb + Azolene™ | AZOLEI Hyper Relief, Sebo Core, Epi New |
| Phase 3 — Weeks 4–12 | Grape stem cell | MINOX Gen Men / Gen Fem, Envigro Men / Envigro Fem |
Why modular matters
No two post-transplant scalps present identically. A patient with an underlying microbiome imbalance needs a different primary intervention than one whose dominant challenge is barrier disruption or shock loss risk. A single-vial system applies the same formulation regardless of which pathway is actually driving the problem.
The PRO EXO system lets clinicians sequence and weight the intervention based on what each patient's scalp actually shows — shifting emphasis between lines as recovery progresses and the clinical picture changes.
Clinical background
A review published in Clinical and Translational Medicine documents the role of exosomes in wound healing, angiogenesis and hair follicle activation — the three processes most relevant to post-transplant outcomes (PMC9189765).
A 2024 study in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology reported improved hair density and follicle activation following exosome application via non-invasive delivery in androgenetic alopecia patients, providing a clinical basis for their use in scalp recovery protocols.
